Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Nelo, the bookings, loyalty and rewards platform available at nelo.co.za (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who these Terms apply to
Nelo has two kinds of users:
- Providers — businesses and individuals who use Nelo to manage bookings, loyalty programs, vouchers and team members.
- Customers — people who use Nelo to book services with Providers and earn rewards.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use the Service.
3. Bookings
Nelo facilitates bookings between Customers and Providers. The services booked are delivered by the Provider, not by Nelo. Providers are responsible for honouring confirmed bookings, for the accuracy of their service descriptions and pricing, and for any cancellation or refund arrangements with their Customers. Nelo is not a party to the service agreement between a Customer and a Provider.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Providers pay a subscription based on the number of bookable users on their account. New Provider accounts start with a free trial; when the trial ends a paid subscription is required to continue using the dashboard. Payments are processed by Paystack — Nelo does not store your card details. Prices are shown in your local currency before you subscribe. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled; cancelling stops future charges and access continues until the end of the paid period.
5. Loyalty points and vouchers
Loyalty points and vouchers are issued by Providers under rules the Provider configures. They have no cash value, are not transferable, and may expire or be withdrawn in line with the Provider's published rules. Nelo may correct point balances affected by error or abuse.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
- make bookings you do not intend to honour, or manipulate loyalty points or vouchers;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, data or systems;
- resell, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service without our written permission.
7. Content
Providers keep ownership of the content they add (business details, service descriptions, images) and grant Nelo a licence to display it for the purpose of operating the Service. You are responsible for having the rights to any content you upload.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available and secure, but it is provided “as is” without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update or modify features, and will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce the Service.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nelo's total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under South African law, including under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible. On termination, Providers can request an export of their business data within 30 days.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
12. General
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
